Gaziyeh Enterprises, Inc. was established in 1995  to study, preserve, present, and promote the arts of the Middle East in the greater Lawrence and Kansas City areas and is a non-profit corporation under IRS 501C3 guidelines,.


Arts of the Middle East

Available for your "edutainment" are music, percussion and dance instruction, educational lectures / demonstrations; entertainment for weddings, or parties; a Dance Company -  Raghsidad! and a Band - Wazan Wa Zamir. Clothing, instruments, costumes and sundries from Cairo and Damascus are available through Cartouche; Wondrous items from North Africa and the Near East from Ethno-Facts ethnofx@sunflower.com, Lawrence based importers. We also have access to a network of instructors, performers and vendors developed over a twenty+ year period, throughout the Midwest and the US, as well as in several overseas locations.

Classes with Zada

Weekly classes are through the Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department  and run year round in 8 week sessions.    Registration booklets/forms are available at all Lawrence Parks & Recreation facilities.   Click here for class schedule and online registration info .  Registrations are accepted online, in person, by mail and fax.  Got a question about it?  Ask Zada, or contact LPRD at 785.832.7930.

General Info

Lawrence classes are held at the Lawrence Community Building, 115 W 11th  Street, in the second floor dance studio.

Class sessions are 8 weeks long - classes are ~1 hour and meet once per week - cost is ~about $32 per session

Tonganoxie class is at the Unlimited Fitness Center on Front St in Tongie.  Classes run 6 weeks

No special attire is required - dress comfortably and be ready to move!

Contact Zada if you have previous Middle Eastern dance experience to determine what level is best for you

Mondays   

6  pm and 7 pm                   Belly Dancercise     (beginners)        A fun and different way to both learn the basics and exercise   

8pm                                       Middle Eastern I     (intermediate)  Prerequisite = Belly Dancercise (2-3 sessions) or 4-6 months of continuous instruction

Tuesdays

6:-8pm                                 Middle Eastern II-III combined company class    (advanced - Performer and professional level) 

                                            Prerequisite = Minimum of 2 years of continuous instruction and  performance experience

 Wednesdays   

6:30pm                                   (Tonganoxie - 6 weeks)  Belly Dance at the Ultimate Fitness Center.  Stretch and move with Zada.
