Bormes-les-Mimosas
is a picturesque, provencal village.
Famous for its
flowers and narrow old streets. A 12th century village
located on a hill. Bormes faces the Mediterranean sea. Bormes provides
a beautiful example of medieval architecture with its arches, ramparts
and castle ruins. Many artists and craftpersons have adopted the village
for their summer shops. In the evening, tourists and Bormeans stroll
through the narrow, winding streets, sit at outdoor cafes or play
“boules” and converse on the large public square located near the
townhall. Bormes is a 15 minute drive from Le Lavandou, 30 minute drive
from Hyeres and 2 hours from Nice by highway. The most beautiful and
least crowded beaches are Cabasson, L’Estagnol and Le Pellegrin which
are private meaning that one has to pay for parking to get in – but are
well worth the price. Public beaches are found along the entire coast.
DESCRIPTION OF THE
HOUSE .
The property is a typical 19th century village home on three
floor levels with a narrow, winding stairway inside. The house is
furnished with antique furniture. If you are looking for a “three star
lodging” our house is not for you!.If you are looking to live like the
French live in a small provencal village, then it is the right place.
Five persons can stay comfortably in the house. It has three bedrooms, a
living room, a kitchen and three bathrooms. It also has electricity,
hot and cold water, shuttered windows and a red earthen tile floor. In
cool weather, the house is equipped with electric radiators and a
permanent unit (located in the upper dining room).
The entrance door is
located at the beginning of a small pedestrian street where it is safe
for children to play.

Not a place for individuals
with physical dishabilities.
Bormes as well as our home are not a place for people who have
difficulties with walking, going up stairs, climbing narrow winding
streets. Bormes is a hill village and our home is on three levels.

There is a lot more
to do: hike the hills above Bormes, visit the islands and so on. You

Finally,
a housekeeper will stop the day of your arrival to check if everything
is fine. She will be your local contact and will clean the house at the
end of your stay.
