Finally, we have found a pattern that we feel is worth your time and effort and will provide good results for the first time corset maker.

Warning! This is not the be all and end all of corset patterns! But we feel it has alot of positive characteristics such as:

• It is a useful, demi-cup style, good for most Victorian periods and fantasy creations.
• The patterns pieces are of the traditional shape, and easy to alter.
• The instructions are clear and concise and very helpful, including those for installing the busk.
• The pattern is sized for modern figures and conforms to current industry standards.
• Not all sizes are on one piece of paper, making it easier to alter and use.
• There are two size ranges: 6,8,10,12 and 14,16,18,20
• And as a bonus, there are a very useable chemise and drawer set included.

Note - fabric is not included as we think you might want something prettier than plain cotton twill - suggestions are: Cotton Damask, heavy linen, twill or poplin, or ticking. The important factor is that the fabric have NO stretch and be densely woven.

Finally, the Fitting Room can offer quality corset laces with 3/4" metal tips. These firmly affixed tips make corset lacing fast and easy, wearing after wearing.

Comfy Cotton - perfect for long periods of wear. Will not rub or cut into your back. Woven flat cotton braid - much like sport shoe laces only slightly larger - 3/8" wide with metal tips. Picture shows lace inserted in 00 grommets - 1/4" inside measurement.
White only, indicate length desired in yards or meters

Synthetic Laces - the lace I use for all my custom work. A woven synthetic flat braid - good "slip". Works very well for those who pull their laces from the waist. 5/16" wide with metal tips. Fits most grommets and eyelets.
Available in Black or White. Indicate length desired in yards or meters.
Also now available in Red, Purple, and Teal Blue.
$1.25 per yard or meter

Soutache Braid - when you need something elegant and understated. 3/16" wide with metal tips. Available in Black, Grey, Ecru and Off White. Indicate length desired in yards or meters.

As we acquire other braids and cords we will let you know. Let us know if you need a specific color - we might be able to match it for you. If you want to share a source of lacing that we can apply metal ends to, we would like to hear from you.

The Indispensable
Corset Fitting Aid.
We have decided to share with you one of our fitting secrets - a pair of baste-on strips of grommets. Baste these boned strips to the back of a corset muslin or corset in progress and you can try it on your model and truly see how the laced up garment will fit. You can use the ICFA over and over, and cut your fitting time in half.
