Hi and welcome to the Fawnrun Homestead. We are located on 11 acres in a small rural community off I-69 in Laingsburg, Michigan.

Our property is an ideal surrounding for allowing our dogs to do what comes natural. These terriers are not for those 'faint of heart'. They are truly 100% every bit hunters.

Here our main focus is on temperament, breeding to the AKC/UKC standard for a correct well rounded dog. Overall health is a top priority when we plan to breed. All our breeding stock is BAER tested, CERF tested annually, patellas checked, thyroid and OFA tested accordingly. We provide a written health guarantee when puppies become available and will do our best to educate new puppy buyers. Please take a moment to view our puppy questionnaire.

Fawnrun is not a kennel that produces lots of puppies. We are very selective in our breeding program and do not breed for profit, but to contribute to, if possible, breed improvement.

All litters are socialized in our family environment and are raised under foot as house pets before placement to approved homes. To view a few puppies from our last litter click here.

We are striving to stay small because we cherish our dogs as members of the family and want to give each the love, devotion and appreciation they deserve.

A little bit about us...

Our love for dogs has always been the hunting breeds -- specifically the Weimaraner. See our newest addition to the non-Russell crew that arrived in August 2001. Shhhh...we have to keep him a secret from the Jacks!

Lyle, currently a retired mechanical engineer – is actively involved in building agility equipment as his new found “hobby”. Cathy, still employed for the State of Michigan – enjoys class training and exhibiting the dogs and both her and Lyle share time at trials or stewarding conformation and obedience shows when not with family or friends on “non-doggie” interests.

Since the dogs love to travel we're hoping to venture out into the ARBA and CKC circuit on occasion.

We are firm supporters and members of the Earthworker's Unlimited, Inc. which is a newly approved UKC Dual Conformation and Hunt Terrier Club.

We have grown very enthusiastically involved in owning and caring for this exciting versatile, intelligent breed. After having owned several other hunting breeds, we feel fortunate to have discovered this "big dog" in a small package.
