HALF SEASON REPORT 2001/2002

Camelot 1

Div 4 Herts.

no report.

Camelot 2

Div 5 Herts.

A difficult start to the season as usual which unfortunately did not change as the season progressed. A few close matches interspersed some heavy losses but Camelot2 have not won a match to date. Our defence will change in the new year as Karen Honey moves on into Euro land - Spain for an unspecified period - good luck to her in her ventures abroad. We are therefore looking for a new defender to join the team and would like some 'younger' centre court players - I think we need them! Lets hope the second half of the season is better than the first.

Camelot 3

Div 1 Hemel League.

After last seasons injuries, pregnancies and the like, expected to get off to a better start.

However, Carol Smith who played goal attack very successfully for us for many years decided to retire from netball and did not start the season. So the start of the season began with Sally & Chris on holiday, Marilyn throwing the javelin and Julie-anne in Spain. I thought, here we go again.... But my fears were groundlesss and we have had a good first half of the season, up there battling with Dacorum and able to use the services of ex-Barling players Lynn and Paula which has been vital. Also a special thanks to Alex and Madge from the 5th team and Jackie from the 4ths who held the fort whilst the other team members were away on their holidays. They all played exceptionally well and fitted straight into the team. Also thanks to any other players who may have helped out, you have all contributed to our excellent position. So we are currently 2nd in the division and looking forward to a consistant and successful season. Who knows where it will end!

Camelot 4

Div 1 Hemel League.

No report.

Camelot 5

Div 2 Hemel

We are currently 8th in the table, which consists of 4 wins and 1 game to within 5 goals. However, I feel that our league position does not fully warrant the effort we have been putting in. The beginning of the season was very difficult as we had a lot of people on holiday for the first couple of games, me being one of them, disgraceful! Also 3 of last years regular players Jo, Claire and Julie are unfortunately not playing this season, therefore we have had some gelling of the new team to do. We currently have a team of 11 registered players, but there were still times when it was difficult to get a team together! In November and December we began to play much better together and had some very close enjoyable games. I am hoping that we will begin the 2nd part of the season in the same way as we ended the 1st, hopefully not too much Christmas pudding has been eaten, time will tell!
