END OF SEASON REPORT 2001/2002

Camelot 1

Div 4 Herts. League Finished 4th.

Lost two players from last year which lead to a rocky start to the season. However having promoted players from Camelot 2, the post Christmas performance was much better. The team finished the season strongly and will probably finish 4th.

Camelot 2

Div 5 Herts. League finished last position.

Camelot 2 had a poor year and this is reflected in being bottom of the division and may see the team relegated out of the Herts league. Camelot 2 never played with the same team of players and lost 2 players to Camelot 1 part way through the season. A decision is expected on May 14th Herts AGM as to whether Camelot 2 is relegated.
Dawn is standing down as Captain.

Camelot 3

Div 1 Hemel League Finished 3rd.

A tricky year with the break up of the famous shooting partnership of Claire Kirwin and Carol Smith, when Carol decided to retire. A number of different playing options were tried but none matched the magic of Claire and Carol when in full swing. Also Camelot 3 suffered some team disruption when Marilyn broke her finger and then Sally and Erika went AWOL to play every other Saturday for North Bucks County. However Camelot was very fortunate to recruit two excellent players from the old Barlings squad, (Paula and Lynn), and they fitted in beautifully. A closely fought season saw Camelot 3 finishing an excellent 3rd and also winning the End of Season Handicap Tournament.

Camelot 4

Div 1 Hemel League Finished 7th.

A very mixed year and a possibility of the team being relegated into Division 2, despite having a pool of talented players. The main problem of not having the same team each week lead to some disappointing results, but on goods days the 4th's played extremely well and secured some notable victories. So Camelot 4, finished one from bottom but may yet survive in Division 1.
Terri is standing down as Captain.

Camelot 5

Div 2 Hemel League Finished 7th.

We had a much better second part of the season where we won 6 games out of the 11, this was mainly because we had a much more consistent team and the whole team began to play much better together. We are a bit disappointed with our final league position - we finished 7th with 32 points - we had hoped that we would finish higher than we did. However, the first part of the season was difficult and did let us down there were a lot games with players out of position and the three new members to get used to, therefore not as many games won. Overall though we had a great time, we won 10 games in total and came to within 5 on two games, we now have a very strong team to go forward into next season.

Unfortunately I am now standing down as Captain of Camelot 5, it was not an easy decision for me to make as I do really enjoy it, but I have been running it for at least 7 years now and due to other commitments the time has come for somebody else to take over. I would like to thank the whole team past and present for being such a fantastic team to run and one that I am proud to be a part of.
(Cathryn Pratt Captain Camelot 5)
Madge and Suzanne are to captain the team jointly for the 2002/2003 season.

Camelot were 3rd on 43 and a goal difference of +118.

Dawn will be captain of the team next season.
