Jonathan Box


was born circa 1770 and lived in Laurens County, South Carolina. His parents are unknown, however there are other Box names listed as early settlers living in the same Laurens area where Jonathan lived. They are believed to be related, but a connection has not been established at this time. Jonathan married Elizabeth "Betsy" Bolton born circa 1780. They migrated to Georgia after 1790. Jonathan served in the War of 1812 as a private in the Georgia militia. After 1840, Jonathan and Elizabeth migrated with their three youngest sons to Butler County, Missouri and settled in the Cane Creek area. Jonathan died between 1860 and 1870 in Butler County, Missouri. Elizabeth died between 1850 and 1860 in Butler County, Missouri. Both Jonathan and Elizabeth are believed to be buried in the Shiloh Cemetery.

William Bolton Box
was born 1799 in Georgia and died 1887. He is buried in the Covington Cemetery, Covington, Hill County, Texas. William married Sarah Whitehead on March 14, 1822 in Hall County, Georgia. Sarah was born between 1800 and 1810 and died between 1832 and 1836 in Georgia.


Rachel Mahala Box
was born in 1805 in Georgia and died between 1870 and 1880 in Itawamba County, MS. Rachel married Joseph T. Raper on January 16, 1823 in Hall County, Georgia.


Jonathan Box
was born about 1809 in probably Georgia.


Hardy Box
was born about 1815 in Hall County, Georgia and died after December 18, 1875 in Butler County, Missouri. He is believed to be buried in the Shiloh Cemetery, Butler County, Missouri with no marker. He married Abbey Hulsey on July 31, 1838 in Paulding County, Georgia. Abbey died before 1848. Hardy and Abbey had three known children: Reuben, William F., and Dennis Box. Hardy married Hester Ann King on February 20, 1848 in Wayne County, Missouri. Their marriage was recorded later in Butler County, Missouri on March 16, 1850. Hester was born about 1829 in Tennessee and died after 1880 in Butler County, Missouri. She is also believed to be buried at the Shiloh Cemetery. Hardy and Hester had ten children: Simeon, Nancy, Jonathan Shields, Lydia, Elizabeth Rachael, Henry M., Tabatha Ellen, Maston Matthew Wiley, Andrew Jackson, and James Marion Box.


Maston P. Box
was born about 1823 in Hall County, Georgia. He was a Confederate soldier and died during the Civil War. He served in the Missouri 8th Battalion Infantry, Company B. Maston married Martha Lucinda about 1844 in Wayne County, Missouri. Martha was born about 1828 in Butler or Wayne County, Missouri. Maston and Martha had four children: Sarah J., Martin W., Jonathan, and James R. Box.


Simeon Box
was born 1821 in Georgia. He was a carpenter and an operator of a sawmill, gristmill, and a cotton gin. He died in September 1859 from injuries he sustained in a mill accident. He is buried in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke County, Mississippi. He married Mary Jane Pruitt/Pruett in probably Georgia. Mary Jane was born 1825 in Georgia. She died October 4, 1899 and is also buried in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke County, Mississippi. Both graves are unmarked. Simeon and Mary Jane lived in Paulding County, Georgia and had two daughters, Martha Jane and Henrietta. In circa 1844, Simeon and Mary Jane moved to Clark County, Mississippi where they had six more children: William H., Mary Almira, William B., Elizabeth Jane, Simeon Alexander, and James Wesley.


Lucinda Box
was born about 1824. She married William L. Bone on July 12, 1840 in Paulding County, Georgia. William and Lucinda had five children: William B., James, John, Nancy, and Solomon Lee Bone.


Wiley Box
was born about 1825 in Hall County, Georgia. He was a Confederate soldier and died during the Civil War. He was a Seargent in Company H, 12th Mo Infantry. He was a 2nd Lt. in Company A, 3rd Battalion Infantry, Missouri State Guard. A grave marker was placed in the Carson Hill Cemetery in 1998 next to his wife, Mary. His actual burial place in unknown. Wiley married Mary Elizabeth Cox about 1848 in Butler County, Missouri. Mary Elizabeth Cox was born about 1828 in the state of Tennessee. She is buried in the Carson Hill Cemetery, Wayne County, Missouri. Wiley and Mary Elizabeth had seven children: Mary E., Nancy S., Lucinda, Tabitha Orlena, Sarah J., Winnie Caroline, and Mattie C. Box.


Nancy Box
was born on June 15, 1829 and died April 30, 1893. She is buried in the Yorkville Church Cemetery, Paulding County, Georgia. She married Williamson Partin on December 24, 1843 in Paulding County, Georgia. Williamson Partin was born on April 15, 1819 and died August 4, 1891. He is buried at the Yorkville Church Cemetery, Paulding County, Georgia. Williamson and Nancy had ten children: Sarah Ann, James, Robert A, William Bowen, Albert, Allen Floyd, Tom, Amanda, Little Berry W., and Mary Lula Partin.
