Death Report from The Lauderdale County Enterprise
30 Mar 1906
Dr. Abner Dunavant died at his home at Curve Sunday night. He had been in failing health the past year, but only confined to his bed since Friday night. The doctor had been a prominent citizen of our county for many years having been in the drug business at Curve since 1888 and he was esteemed by a large circle of friends. He was a gallant Confederate soldier, and always took an active part in perpetuating the cause he loved so well. His long life of 69 years... a wife and three brothers survive. Remains were interred in the family cemetery near Double Bridges Tuesday, many members of John
Sutherland Camp No. 890 being among the large assemblage who gathered to pay the last tribute to their comrade and friend.
