Old Dunnavant house
William Dunevant of Henrico County, gave to his son, Umphre, of Amelia County, 200 acres of land in Amelia County, being one half of 400 acres on the lower side of Flatt Creek, granted to William Dunevant by patent. This deed is dated June 10, 1737. (D.B. 1, p.46) On February 15, 1744, William Dunafant, of Henryco County, sold to Phillip Dunavant of Amelia, 250 acres between Knebbs and Smacks Creek, being part
of 1270 acres granted to William Dunavant by patent, dated at Williamsburg, the 28th Day of Sept., with all houses, buildings, etc. (D.B.2, p.119) William Dunnavant willed to his sons, Daniel and Abner, his land and plantation "where I now live", to be divided equally, after their mother Mary's death or remarriage. John Crittenton, and John Webster, commissioners, sold to Kennon W. Dunnavant, the estate of Abner Dunnavant, dec'd. (D.B.35, p.346.) On Feb. 16, 1844, Mary W. Bailey, of Amelia, bought from Kennon W. Dunnavant and wife, Eliza Ann, of Chesterfield County, 296 acres. (D.B.36, p.220.)

Indenture made 13 Feb 1735 between Lawrence Brown of Henrico Co. and William Hawson of Charles City Co. for L25, paid by Hawson for a tract of land, 400 acres on Smack's Creek in Prince Emlia Co. which was taken up by Lawrence Brown and surveyed by Col. Robert Bolling, patent date 8 Aug 1735 - beginning at George Willson's lower corner - Peter Ragsdale' line to Wm Dunnevant's corner to Walthal's line to George Willson's line to start. In witness whereof Lawrence Brown has hereunto set his hand and seal.

This indenture made 10 June 1737 between Wm Dunevant of Henrico Co & Umphre Dunevant of Amelia Co.
Wit: that the said William Dunevant for love and affection which he hath and beareth towards his son Umphre Dunevant above named but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of five pounds to him in hand paid the receit where of he hereby acknowledges, hath given granted and by these presents doth freely, absolutely and clearly give and grant to the sd Umphre Dunevant his heirs and assigns for ever two hundred acres of land lying in the county of Amelia on lower side of Flatt Creek, beginning at a red oak on the lower side of the bark house branch, thence up by a Strait line of marked trees through the body of sd land to a Maple in Col. Kannon's lines near the bark house branch it being the one half of four hundred acres of land granted to the sd William Dunevant by patent together with all etc.... to have and to hold the aforesaid 200 acres of land with the aforesaid written premises.
Wit: whereof the sd Wm Dunevant hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year above written.

This indenture made 10 June 1737 between Willm Dunnevant of Henrico Co. and Matthew Jackson & Ann, his wife of Amelia Co.
Wit: that the sd Wm Dunevant for the love and affection which he hath and beareth towards his son Mathew Jackson & Ann, his wife, above named but more especially for & in consideration of the of L5 to him in hand paid the receit, whereof he hereby acknowledges hath given granted and by these presents doth freely absolutely & clearly give & grant to sd Mathew Jackson & Ann, his wife both of their lives in one hundred acres of land and after both their decease then to the heirs of her body lawfully begotten and if she die without such heirs then to return to the said Will Dunevants heirs the land being of the Woolf branch at a corner white oak thence sutherly cross the road to a corner - white oak thence along the road Easterly to a corner hicory in Willm Worshams
line thence along the said Worshams line to Ness Worshams Corner thence to the Woolf branch thence up ye Woolf branch to the first beginning to Cousans 100 acres land it being a part of 1137 acres of land granted sd Willm Dunevant by patent together with all apurtemances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the aforesaid one hundred acres of land with the above written premises.
