Sexing your Bearded Dragon

 

The problem with Bearded Dragons is that it's hard to tell what gender you have. When they are juveniles its almost impossible to tell what gender your bearded dragon is. The most conclusive way it's to take it to a vet and have them do tests but that can be expensive. To do it your self all it does is take time. You can see by their behavior and some other physical ways to find out. The male's head is bigger than the females when they get a little older. The male's tail is a bit wider near the vent. While females tails are slimmer. When they get older the females don’t puff their beards out as much as the males. The male head and body gets darker then the females. And the last and the more conclusive way to do it your self are the pre-anal pores. The females will either is non-existent or they will have small pinpricks. The males will have a wider cloacal opening that the females. But the problem with the physical ways is that you need two dragon compare them with. The Bearded Dragons will become mature to breed at the age of 8-9 months of age.
