One and Only One You

Every single blade of grass

And every flake of snow

Is just a wee bit different

There are no two alike you know

From something small like grains of sand

To that gigantic star

All were made with this in mind

To be just what they are

How foolish then to imitate

How useless to pretend

Since each of us come with a mind

Whose ideas never end

There'll only be just one me

To show what I can do

And you should likewise feel quite proud

There's only one of YOU!

From which the world began

YOU ARE TRUE...when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

YOU ARE ALIVE...when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterdays mistakes.

YOU ARE GROWING...when you know what you are but not what you will become.

YOU ARE FREE...when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

YOU ARE HONORABLE...when you find your honor is to honor others.

YOU ARE GENEROUS...when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

YOU ARE HUMBLE...when you do not know how humble you are.

YOU ARE THOUGHTFUL...when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

YOU ARE MERCIFUL...when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL...when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

YOU ARE RICH...when you never need more than what you have.

YOU ARE YOU...when you are at peace with who you are not.

By the use you make of dollar and dime.

You tell what you are by the things you wear,
By the spirit in which you burdens bear,
By the kind of things at which you laugh,
By records you play on the phonograph.

You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk,
By the manner in which you bear defeat,
By so simple a thing as how you eat.

By the books you choose from the well-filled shell;
In these ways, and more, you tell on yourself.
