A Guide to Help You Enjoy this Special Tefillah

DETACH- I remove myself from the material world and stop thinking about the mundane. I leave behind the outside world's influences.

"Da Lifnei Mi Atah Omaid"- WHO AM I TALKING TO? Hashem is like an old friend that I can trust and talk to, and He loves me.

I want this tefillah to be special. I'll just tell Hashem what's on my mind and enjoy the experience! I'll make the most of it. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and focus.

ATTACH- I enter into the world of Kedusha.

Imagine walking through the hallway, and reaching the door. Enter the throne room of the Creator of the entire world, who is standing right in front of you.

"Hashem- Sifasei Tiftach, Ufi Yagid Tehilasecha"- I am so ashamed of everything that I've done wrong, and I need help to get the words out, to come close to You again. My mouth starts out clean and pure- please help me keep it this way all day.

SHEVACH#1

I will praise Hashem and recognize who He is before I request from Him.

Zechus Avos- I have stability from the Mesorah, and I am invoking their Zechuyos.

I am stepping back into history and returning to my roots and 'spiritual genes', acknowledging the greatness of the Avos and emulating their ways. I must always think to myself, "What would the Avos do in this situation?"

Baruch- I bow in humility of Hashem's awesomeness, and in gratitude for this incredible opportunity. I acknowledge Hashem as the source of all Bracha.

Attah- I am talking directly to Hashem.

Hashem- Hashem is my personal Master, who was, is, and will be.

Elokeinu- He is an all-powerful G-d. Yes we, Bnei Yisroel, still have a relationship with Him.

Vaylokei Avoseinu- Hashem was close to my ancestors and He took care of them.

Elokei Avrohom- Avrohom destroyed his father's Avodah Zara and passed 10 Nisyonos, with Emunah, being the first one to recognize Hashem, and with Chessed, he was Mikarev the world.

Elokei Yitzchak- Yitzchak went through the Akeidah, and with Gevurah, he restrained his Taivos within himself.

V'Elokei Yaakov- Yaakov fought Eisav, had Rochel and Leah switch on him, and thought that he lost Yosef, but with Emes, he started Bnei Yisroel as a nation.

Hakel- He is an all-powerful G-d

Hagadol- With Ahava (love), He created this world so that I could receive His goodness.

Hagibor- With Yirah, He can do anything, and He is always watching me.

Vihanorah- With Ahava and Yirah, Hashem is awesome.

Kel Elyon- I can't understand the way that Hashem runs the world. Although Hashem is so high above, He is still involved in my life.

Gomel Chasadim Tovim- I feel like the Chessed that Hashem is doing for me presently is coming to me anyway, and I take it all for granted. Everything that Hashem does is for my benefit. I need to remember that!

Vokoneh Hakol- Hashem owns everything - everything we own is all just a loan.

Vizocher Chasdei Avos- Hashem remembers Zechus Avos, because I am unworthy on my own.

Umeivi Goel- Hashem is presently bringing the Geulah closer.

Livnei Vineihem- I am the Avos' distant relative generations later- they are not mythical people.

Lima'an Shimo- To make a Kiddush Hashem.

Biahava- Binei Yisroel don't want Hashem to be disappointed that we didn't earn the Geulah on our own.

Melech- I am Mamlich Hashem over myself.

Ozer- Hashem continually gives me strength to succeed in my Avodas Hashem if He sees me trying.

Umoshiah- After I fall and I am passively hopeless, Hashem is presently rescuing me on His own.

Umagain- Hashem will protect me from falling in the first place, and all I have to do is stand behind His 'sheild' by doing Ratzon Hashem.

Baruch- I bow in humility of Hashem's awesomeness, and in gratitude for this incredible opportunity. I

Attah- I am talking directly to Hashem.

Hashem- Hashem is my personal Master, who was, is, and will be.

Virofei Cholim- Hashem is healing the seemingly incurably and hopelessly sick, causing a sudden recovery.

Umatir Asurim- Hashem frees me from worrying about my problems.

Think of the bound in prison, behind the Holocaust's barbed wire, those who are paralyzed, and a divorcee waiting for a Get.

Umikayeim Emunaso Lisheinay Afar- Tzadikim's bodies don't disintegrate- their deaths are temporary, until Moshiach.

PERSONAL BAKASHA, spiriitual #1

Da'as- Now that I understand better Who it is that I am talking to, I can request the necessities of life required to serve Hashem properly, the first being intellect. I am appreciating the gift of Da'as, and I am using my Bechira properly to chose between right and wrong.

For example: Recognizing people's faces, storing memories in my mind, calculating prices when I shop, understanding complex math problems, memorizing information for a test, knowing what advice to give, etc.

I need You, Hashem! I depend on You for everything - what part of my life is my own? Not my stuff, not my body, not my Neshama (which You take at night). Even when it comes to my free will, I need to ask for Siata Dishimaya to know the right thing to do to serve Hashem properly. I am totally submitting myself before Hashem.

Atah- I am talking directly to Hashem

Chonen Liadam- With Rachamim, Hashem is presently granting mankind the intelligence that separates us from animals

Da'as- Knowledge and wisdom to differentiate between right and wrong

Chaneinu- With Rachamim

Mayitcha- I am asking for the intellect to come directly from You, Hashem

Hashiva Shofteinu Kivarishona- In the old days, when Bnei Yisroel were great, it came from the fact that we had great leaders. The Sanhedrin would decide what the law would be, and make sure that people kept it.
