Hashem is practically begging us to develop a relationship with Him

The Meaning of Shacharis

Hashem is practically begging us to develop a relationship with Him! He waits for our list of requests- no request too petty. He can go against Tevah and do the seemingly impossible. He can, and is willing to do anything and everything, if we just ask! The door is always open- no appointment necessary, and He's always listening with undivided attention. We can talk directly to Him, about anything. What more could we ask for?

Now that we no longer have the opportunity to bring Karbanos, davening has taken its place. About 200,000 years ago, the Anshei Kinesses Hagedolah established Tefillah, but we take it lightly, making Tefillah into mere routine, and void of sincere emotion. We lack the proper Kavannah necessary to make Tefillah an encounter with the Melech Malchei Hamelachim, instead of just habitual motions.

If we would really put our all into it- really feel the words, Hashem would respond whole-heartedly back! He will help you with your problems, if you just show Him that you rely on Him! He will shower you with Bracha, if you just appreciate His wonders! He will think of you throughout the day, if you just make time for Him!

Shacharis is all about the great potential of the new day. Capture the moment and don't waste an opportunity, because you will never have this day again. Go out and make the world a better place! We take the gift of life for granted and expect that our Neshama will be returned every day, but the only reason that Hashem gives us another day is because He assumes that we may have messed up yesterday, but we will use our day well this time. "Prove" Hashem right!
