~ You Taught Me ~

From the moment we met, you've been teaching me,
Lessons I needed to learn, taught with your love.
That it's possible to be tough and tender at the same time.
That showing someone you care is worth the risk.
That exposing yourself is not a weakness.
That love can show itself in the most unexpected ways.
You taught me that things are never as bad as I think they are.
And that no matter what I'm going through , I'm never alone.
Without saying a word, you told me that I could do anything.
From you, I've learned how to really communicate with another person.

Friendship is really important! Friends are there in our times of need, and share in our times of joy. They are our support system. A Real Friend

A simple friend has never seen you cry.

A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.

A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.

A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.

A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.

A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.

A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.

A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.

A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.

A real friend expects to always be there for you.

What is Friendship?

Friendship is a strange thing.
We find ourselves telling each other
the deepest details of our lives...
things we don't even share with the families who raised us.

But what is a friend? A confidant? A shoulder to cry on? An ear to listen? A heart to feel? A friend is all these ... and more. No matter where we met, no matter how long we've been together ... I call you friend.

A word so small, yet so large in feeling,
a word filled with emotion,
a word overflowing with love.

Truly great things come in small packages.
Once the package of friendship has been opened, it can never be closed. It is a constant book always waiting ... waiting to be read ... and enjoyed.

We may have our disagreements ...
we may have our disappointments ...
we may argue ... we may concern one another ...friendship is a unique bond that lasts through all tribulations.

A part of each of us goes into our friendships
... our humor ...our experiences ... our tears.

Friendships are foundations ... necessary for life ... and love.

I will always be your Friend

*Sometimes in our lives we walk in the darkness and we feel we are walking alone- u will never have to walk alone again. I will always be your friend.*

*sometimes in our lives we cry til we feel there are no tears left and the world has taken them all away- you will never have to cry alone again. i will always be your friend.*

*In our lives we will fault and we will make mistakes and we will feel like no one else knows the feeling. but you will never make these mistakes alone. i will always be your friend.*

*sometimes we need to laugh and we need to smile and just when we feel there is no one left who can make you happy ill be there. because I will always be your friend.*

*in our lives we will have secrets. some things are never meant to be told. but when you are feeling like you're at the end and you have no place else to turn. i will never ask you for your secret. I will never ask you for your pain. I will only ask you to know that no matter what it is- i will always be your friend.

*there will be boys. and there will be relationships in your life. some more important than others. some less. some will be based around love and some will be based around stupidity. just when u feel that your heart is falling apart I will be with you -with or without a comforting word- but I will always be your friend. and there is nothing like a friend.*

*In our lives we will lose people. lives will come and lives will go and you may never go on the same. but one thing is certain- no matter where I am, and what I'm doing you can always call on me. because I will always be your friend.*

*sometimes when we feel like we are on our own. and lost. and scared. maybe i wont offer all the right suggestions but i will offer my hand. and i will offer my heart. and i will offer my company. and i will always be your friend.*

*sometime in the future we are going to be grown up and we are going to need something to remember. we may feel like there is nothing left and the world is falling apart. and u will need something old and beautiful. something to hold on to. and that's why you have this.*

*you may stumble and you may fall. and you will grow. you may lose things that you never realized were so precious to you. your mind may be taken over by unfamiliar things and your life may not be what it was when you were a little girl. but when you are on the ground I will be right there next to you. every second of every single day.*

Thorns and Roses

A man planted a rose and watered it faithfully. One day, as he examined it, he saw that the bud would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem.  He thought........"How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?" Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died.

So it is with many people.  Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth growing amid the thorns of our faults.

Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us.  We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies.  We never realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them.

One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others.  This is characteristic of love... to look at a person and know their true faults.

Accepting that person into your life, while recognizing the nobility in their soul.  Help them to realize that they can overcome their faults.

 If we show them the rose, they will conquer their thorns.  Only then will they blossom many times over.

Just Me

Accept me as I am-I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not.
Perfect I cannot be.
I, like you.....am human.
Prone to make mistakes.
Failure is not a character flaw,
Just a part of the human makeup.
I live, I laugh and I also learn.
My knowledge is incomplete.
I am searching all the time,
in waking hours as well as sleep.
I have a long road to travel,
as well as you do.
We learn our lessons on the way.
Wisdom we shall accrue.
Accept me as I am
Because I am ....me.

No one like me in the world.
That is my only guarantee.
