 The
Perfect Present
I just wanted
to tell you
That I still
have
the
compliment you gave me.
It's in a
very private place
And when I'm
depressed
I pull it out
and gaze at it.
I look at it
from all angles,
Take it apart
and rearrange it,
And it still
works.
Thanks again.
It was the
perfect present.
The
Perfect Friend
Someone you can
talk to
at any hour of the day
Someone who really listens
to the words you have to say
Someone who shares emotions
the laughter and the tears
Someone you can count on
any day for many years
Someone extra special
that knows the real you
Someone to spend time with
who enjoys the things you do
Someone who is a part of your world
and will be so until the end
Someone you can trust your life with
Is someone who you call your friend

Tears
of Friendship
by
CJ
True friends
cry for you
when you cant
True friends
cry with you
when you can
True friends shed a tear
for each one
of yours.
A friends tears fall into the ocean with yours
Where together
they join and talk
and listen
A
friend's
tears are there,
needed or not,
shown or not,
they share your pain
your sorrow
they worry about you
when it is not needed
they are there
for you
needed or not
all you have to do is walk through
the open door
and find that
a friend is there
waiting
wanting
longing
to help

'LIKE COINS IN
OUR POCKET'
Like coins in our pockets,
Another year we have spent,
Who among us could give account,
Of where it all went?,
For like coins that soon dwindle,
A little here, a little there,
We spend with such ease,
We spend without care,
With no forethought of the sum,
We spend with such haste,
Never choosing to remember,
How much has been waste,
How much have we spent,
Just so self we could please,
Not caring that our giving,
Might someone else's load ease?,
And what then shall we do,
When there's no more to spend?,
And what will we have,
To show in the end?,
And then how shall we answer,
For the time God has lent?,
Like coins in our pocket,
Have you carelessly spent?

Things
Do Change
As the wind
blows on,
the time flies by.
Things do change
and friendships die.
Learning from mistakes, we continue to grow.
Now facing the truth,
we try to let go.
Living without the friend
and with the shame,
we try to forget
that it will not be the same.
But the pain remains,
the tears fall forth,
now moving on
for all it's worth.
From losing a friend,
we've gained in return -
things do change,
and from that we do learn.

With You
With you
I've learned to fly,
When I didn't even know I had wings.
With you I've learned a song,
When I didn't even know I could sing.
With you I've learned to laugh,
When I didn't even know how to smile.
With you I have found my talents,
Even though they have been with me all the while.
With you I've found hope and joy and love
And everything I've wanted to be.
With you I've been taught what it means to live,
And exactly what it means to be me

The Light
of Friendship
I've seen
the light and
It's in you in everything you do
It's a perfect light
That shines for all to see
It radiates from you
And has pierced the heart of me
The light is from a friend
It's a light that keeps me warm
It lets me know how loved I am
And keeps me safe from harm
To you my friend I am thankful
In each and every way
For you lift my spirits up
With every passing day
To know that you are there for me
It makes me feel alive
Because it is your friendship's light
Upon which my hopes and dreams thrives
So thank you isn't good enough
They are the only words I know
It is your light of friendship
That gives my world it's glow
Thanks for sharing your light with me
For it is the simple things in life That are truly unforgettable

A
friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things and
if you have one, you have one of the most valuable gifts in life.
A friend is the one who will always be beside you, through all the laughter, and
through each and every tear. A friend is the one thing you can always rely on;
the someone you can always open up to; the one wonderful person who always
believes in you in a way that no ones else seems to. A friend is a sanctuary. A
friend is a smile.
A friend is a hand that is always holding yours, no matter where you are, no
matter how close or far apart you may be. A friend is someone who is always
there and will always - always - care. A friend is a feeling of forever in the
heart.
A friend is the one door that is always open. A friend is the one to whom you
can give your key. A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of
the best things you can be.

Friendship
by Carol Elaine Faivre-Scott
Each of us has a
hidden place
Somewhere deep within ourselves;
A place where we go to get away,
To think things through,
To be alone, to be ourselves.
This unique
place, where we confront our deepest feelings,
Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes,
All our needs, all our dreams,
And even our unspoken fears.
It encompasses the essence of who we are
And what we want to be.
But now and
then, whether by chance or design,
Someone discovers a way into
That place we thought was ours alone.
And we allow that person to see, to feel and to share
All the reason, all the uncertainty
And all the emotion we've stored up there.
That person adds
new perspective to our hidden realm,
Then quietly settles down
In his own corner of our special place,
Where a bit of himself will stay forever.
And we call that
person a friend.

Best
Friends Forever
We've been friends now,
for quite a while.
Through ups and downs,
tears and smiles.
All those letters ending,
best friends forever.
All those ideas,
some crazy, some clever.
We shared the bad times,
and the happiness,
We know our friendship,
would be nothing less.
The times we spent together,
I'll always keep in my heart.
We know these memories,
would last from the start.
Talking for hours on the phone,
you always had good advice to loan.
So I dedicate this poem to you,
because you're a friend who has stayed true!

A Friend
Will...
Be there for you
Cheer you up,
When you're blue
Listen to all your woes
Help you out with your foes
Encourage you to succeed
Know when you are in need
Remember you on special days
Help you out in so many ways
Tell you how things really are
Remember you from afar
Give you what support they can
Be your true and loyal fan
Love you in good times or bad
Build you up when you're sad
Help you when you've done it wrong
Remind you that you do belong
Give you a pat on the back
Tell you when you've got the knack
Hug you just to console
Remind you that you have a goal
Celebrate your victories
Pick you up from your knees
Hurt with you when you're down
And Try to wipe away your frown

Only A
Friend
Only
a friend will walk
That
extra mile to help you out,
Only a
friend understands
You,
and what you're about
Only a
friend will cry with you
When
you're hurting deep inside,
Only a
friend will secure a secret
That
you prefer to hide
If the
sun didn't rise in the morning
And
black clouds covered above,
Only a
friend could turn the sky to blue
With
warm words and a show of love
Only a
friend will stand beside you
Even
though you're miles away,
Only a
friend knows how to make you smile
To help
you through the day
Only a
friend will take the time
To
listen to what's been said,
Or
place themselves in front of you
If you
fear what lies ahead
Only a
friend will do all this
In
their heart there's a message they send,
I'll
always be here when you need me
Because
you, "you're my best friend"

A Friend Most
True
Wendy Hinson
I need to know if
you’re my true friend,
will you be by my side until the end?
Can I tell you my secrets deep,
and trust them in your heart you’ll keep?
We are neither
of us without our flaws,
can you accept mine as I will yours?
I’ll be a shoulder to cry on when you’re blue,
will you be there for me when I need you?
No matter how
busy I will make time for you,
if you are busy will you make time for me too?
I will take your hand and comfort your tears,
will you hold me and soothe my fears?
I will give you
joy and many warm smiles,
can we share that even across many miles?
I will not forget what’s important to you,
will you remember what’s important to me too?
With you my most
favorite things I’ll share,
If only I know do you truly care?
If you can accept me as I do you,
then I will know you are a friend most true.

Nobody
Quite Like You
Nobody
understands me quite like you do.
And, the truth be told,
I'm not always easy to comprehend.
But you study me like a book,
And explain to me the content of my pages.
Because sometimes I am too blind to see for myself.
Nobody knows me quite like you do.
I need not verbalize thoughts
When I am with you --
For you already know what I am thinking.
I wouldn't be surprised if you know
What I'm going to write next.
Because sometimes you know me better than me.
Nobody
sees my quite like you do.
Walls, pretenses, illusions -- these do not
Cloud your view of me.
You see who I am, what I am,
And who and what I strive to be.
And you accept that.
And you like that.
Because sometimes you like me better than I like me.
And
that is why no one is to me
The friend you are to me.

To My
Friends
by Travis Runnels
Always
there,
They always care.
Times taken for granted,
Now remembered.
The short times now cherished.
You never know,
How much they mean,
Till you think of the times you’ve spent
All of the good times,
And the bad.
Sorry there had to be bad.
You must know I miss you more,
More than my own blood.
Things we have done,
Places we have gone,
All in fun.
Now a reminder,
Of the times we spent.
I don’t know if you will ever know,
The way that I feel,
But you must know.
I love you so.

I Can Only
Be Your Friend
I
can't give solutions to all of life's
problems, doubts, or
fears.
But I can listen to
you,
and together we will
search for answer.
I can't change your
past or the future
with its untold
stories.
But I can be there now
when
you need me to care.
I can't keep your feet
from stumbling.
I can only offer my
hand
that you may grasp it
and not fall.
Your joys, triumphs,
successes,
and happiness are not
mine.
Yet, I can share in
your laughter.
I can't keep your heart
from breaking or
hurting.
But I can cry with you
and help you pick up
the pieces
and put them back in
place.
I can't tell you who
you are.
I can only love you and
be your friend.

What
You Mean To Me…
You turned my
darkness into light;
You made everything all right.
You picked me up when I was down;
You turned my life around.
If I didn't have you, what would I be?
A blessing is what you are to me.
When I needed you the most, you were there;
Even if it seemed like you didn't care.
When I didn't think I could make it another day,
You chased all my doubts away.
If I didn't have you, what would I be?
A treasure is what you are to me.
The world is full of many people, it's true;
But there is only one of you.
You fill my heart with love;
You're a God-sent gift from above.
If I didn't have you, what would I be?
An angel is what you are to me.
Lost and alone, I will no longer be;
Because you are here with me.
There is no reason to be sad;
You've taken away all the bad.
If I didn't have you, what would I be?
A best friend is what you are to me!!

Forgiveness
by Ashley
Dickerson
Adrift in a
sea of sadness
lost in my thoughts
Jokes can be taken so harsh
when meant to be taken lightly
A slip of the tongue is all it takes
and suddenly you're alone
boxed in a world of fears
a world of tears
Cruelty is it's game
life it's name
ever changing, rapidly sweeping you along
like a roller coaster you can't stop
and as you spin wildly spin
out of control
scenes from earlier on this ride of life
flash through your mind
The walls are closing in
The room begins to spin
you fall to your knees and
beg for it to stop
you beg and plead for
forgiveness knowing
that you were wrong
You've been to bossy,
said too much,
you say it will never happen
again and you know
that you'll do anything
in your power to keep it
from happening again
you love these people
and can't fight
like this with them
so you plead for forgiveness.
