Charlie Whitney isn't like the other ladies of Edgemont. She wears trousers, speaks her mind, and has burning ambitions as a journalist. She desperately wants to make a success of her late father's newspaper. Unfortunately, the job has been handed to Adam Chase, a big city editor from Richmond who doesn't like being in Edgemont any more than Charlie wants him there--even if he has sparked powerful feelings in her. She Challenged Him To Love Adam believes in the power of the press and not much else, including love or happiness. He just wants to get the paper on its feet and get back to Richmond--away from the temptations that Charlie evokes. But he needs her to make the paper a success, and, like it or not, she needs him to teach her the writing trade. Soon, Charlie's learning much more than how to report the news. In Adam's arms, she discovers the true meaning of passionate love...and the fine line between ambition and desire.

Tracy Sumner started creating stories and characters to fill them long before she could write. Later, it took only one book, LaVyrle's Spencer's Vows, to set her writing in a romantic direction. Born and raised in South Carolina, she writes about the South from an insider's point of view. Tracy holds a Master's degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina and is a graphic designer by trade. She has lived all over the world but considers Chicago her favorite city. Tracy is inspired by the sharp turn of a phrase, a Clemson touchdown and her ferret's antics.
