Hello, my name is Donna Steele and I have been designing and making my mohair teddy bears for the past six years. My collectible teddy bears have won awards and have been featured in in Linda Mullin's book, Tribute to Teddy Bear Artists, Volume III. I have also designed teddy bears for the Franklin Mint, the Annette Funicello Bear Company, and the Home Shopping Network.
Most of my collectible teddy bears are one-of-a-kind. I use mohair, glass eyes
and other fine materials in their creation. I show great attention to detail in
my teddy bears, especially with their facial expressions. People have told me
that my teddy bears have a sweet, almost puppy like quality. I must be
inspired by our two dogs, Kiki and Molly ( a Yorkie and a Maltese ). To
further make "the button box" a family affair, my husband Dave diligently
names all of the teddy bears before they leave for their new homes!
