Don plays fiddle the old-time way, and sings bass in
quartet songs. He grew up in southern Missouri and
comes from a musical family. He learned fiddle from
his father, and also plays guitar and bass. In the late
60's he joined a Kansas City-based group ( The
Bluegrass Association) and continued to play with
them for the next 10 years. The Bluegrass Brigade
was in need of a fiddle player, and asked Don to join
them in 1978. He's been with them ever since. He is
retired from his "day job" with the railroad, and enjoys
his family: wife Peggy, 4 children & 11
grandchildren.
He plays a five-string Hoff fiddle. |
