I was looking forward to this event for a long time. My expectations were very high based on the 1995 All Japan which was a great event. I was not disappointed. This was a great event. Everything that I say in my review of the 1995 All Japan is true of this event. [Click here to go the 1995 All Japan review] The 1996 All Japan just continues the arm snapping face smashing frenzy. Lots of knees to the face. Tons of people crumbing to the ground. The fighters appeared to have a good mix of stand-up skills and ground grappling. Most of the fights are won using technique. This is just a good event all the way around. The whole event is edited so that it is nonstop fights. It would be nice to see an event like this take place in the United States. Add this tape and the 1995 All Japan to my must own tape list. Enough said.
