Yoltorian Chief Magistrate Killed in Grotian Attack

YOLTORIAN AUTHORITY (LNN) – While on a survey mission to see firsthand the damage caused by the attacks from Grotian Industries, the Yoltorian Authority’s only military ship, the YAS Justice, was destroyed with no survivors.
One of the 400 on board was Chief Magistrate James Vermille. Shortly afterwards, at 23:45 local time (22:41 LMT) Magistrate of Science Pollux Carter was sworn in as the next Chief Magistrate.
Vermille’s administration had a strict policy of pacifism. The Authority has developed a variety of both offensive and defensive technology, but had no military. Due to the recent attacks, the new Chief Magistrate immediately reversed this.
In a statement just after his inauguration, Chief Magistrate Carter declared, "My fellow Yoltorians, we all mourn for the loss of Chief Magistrate Vermille. It is a tragedy that I will not let stand. I have overturned some of his rulings, and have told the Magistrate of War to begin producing military ships of our own. Vermille had a vision, that total pacifism would bring further enlightenment to our people. His dreams did come true! We as a people have become the most advanced race technologically speaking. However, at the same time, evil has decided to take advantage of our peaceful ways. Grotian Industries have forced us to act, and even though I cherish Vermille and his ideas, we can not let ourselves to be maimed. With our production capabilities, we will have an entire fleet by the end of the week. The Authority shall show these people who is the boss."
As part of the military effort, 66-year-old Federation and IAP veteran Admiral Yuri Nelson was appointed as Supreme Commander of the new Yoltorian military. He released a statement saying, "I am honoured to command the military of such a respectable and noble race. I will defend the citizens with the best of my ability."
Chief Magistrate Carter estimates with their advanced production techniques, the new military should be ready in a week.
