Cannis win Commonwealth Series 4-2

JOTUNHEIM, FREYA (CSN) – The partying continued well into the morning on 40 Leonis IV following the Lions' win over the Freya Dragons last night. Thousands filled the streets of Cannis following the conclusion of the game. A parade is planned for the team upon their return.

The victory was almost guaranteed after a sixth-inning home run by third baseman Erik Bell with two runners on, putting them up 6-1.

Freya took an early lead in the seven-game series, winning the second matchup 5-2 and the third 4-3.

Upon returning home for the next two games, however, Cannis erased the deficit to take a 3-2 lead overall.

Cannis pitcher Rick tr’Aaris gave up only one run in the first six innings. Replacement Mirok tr’Saens allowed only four hits and kept Freya scoreless for the last three.

Tony Duke started Cannis’s run with a one-run hit in the third, with Jon Pritchard answering in the bottom of the inning.

After that, though, it was all Cannis. Bell brought in two runs in the fifth, before his first home run, and a final home run by left fielder Tony Duke in the ninth practically sealed the 7-1 outcome.

Cannis have a 93-68 record for the regular season, while Freya were only slightly behind with 87 wins and 74 losses.
