L’nhraei Elementalists Celebrate Okhala and Ihhuein

by Toklath tr’Khamrir

CAPE PROVIDENCE, L’NHRAEI (LNN) – Okhala, the element of Fire, was celebrated by Elementalists today on L’nhraei’s southern summer solstice.

"Like the other elements, fire is neither good or evil," according to one worshipper. "It can destroy, but it also brings us life. None of us would be here if it weren’t for the sun."

The ceremony involves dancing and prayer around large bonfires. Various materials are added to the flames during the ceremony to create different colours, each of which has a special significance.

While the southern hemisphere prepares for summer, the northern hemisphere is entering winter, which brings the festival of Ihhuein, the element of Water.

A performance was held involving a fountain of water, coloured by a rainbow of lights with dancers and singers worshipping under the changing streams. During this, everyone present is invited to participate.

There is also an exhibit of ice sculptures, many of which symbolise various aspects of Water. This display is open to the public and remains until the sculptures melt, which can sometimes be several weeks.
