A WebRing is a way to group sites of similar interest together in a "Ring." Links on each page allow you to move from one site to the next, eventually traveling the entire Ring to end up where you started.
Anyone who has useful information which they want to share with other teachers of foreign (or second) languages and/or linguistics. We are particularly interested in "hands-on", classroom friendly materials (as well as articles, sites, info of any kind).
If your materials are copyrighted, the copyright, of course, remains with you. We do, however, expect that any materials added to the site are original (or properly documented papers/research reports/dissertations, etc). We do not sanction copyright violations of any kind.
If someone wishes to use your copyrighted materials, they should contact you for permission to do so. You should probably include a statement like: "for reprint permission, please contact YOUR-e-MAIL-ADDRESS-GOES-HERE." (and/or an email address) to make it easier for them to get ahold of you
Or, if you like, you can add a statement
like "permission is granted for educational purposes providing that the
work is attributed to the orginal author, YOUR-NAME-GOES-HERE."
The links on each site are created from
the "HTMLfragment" (HTML code that is added to the site). They provide
a means for the WebRing database to know what site the user is coming from,
and where they want to go.(i.e., next site, prev site, etc....)
Still in the works:
5.Link to random site in the Ring, and a list
of all sites.
The "HTMLfragment" is code contained in the links (i.e., next site, prev site, etc...) on each site in the Ring. This code provides a means for the WebRing database to know which site the user is coming from, and where the user wants to go. When the user clicks on one of these links, WebRing searches the database for the correct information, then sends the user to the URL of the next site in the Ring.
Copy the table
(the one that says "This Foreign Language .... & has the picture
of the kiddies in the classroom) below ... and enter it on your
webpage (site) you want to link to the Foreign Language Teachers WebRing.

You'll have to go in with some kind of text editor to alter a few of the links once you've received official confirmation of your inclusion into our queue.
1) You'll want to change the "owned by" name to your own :)
2) You'll be sent -- eventually -- a special id# for your ring-link.
You'll
need to change the part that says "id=1" to whatever your
assigned id# is ... (that's so people can find you :)
You'll need to do this on each link (ie:"next page", "skip it", etc)
When you've done that, email me back & let me know (Alysse@cde.com) I'll double check the table to make sure it's working right, and then, I'll put you on the ring!
That's all there is to it :)
Welcome!!!
