Metro Department For Human Services
Chapter D is a part of AFSCME  Local 2629 representing over 900 workers in Metro Government.  The 98 Bargaining Unit Members of Chapter D are employed in classifications including Account Clerk Typist, Secretaries, Information and Referral Technicians, Intergenerational Program Workers, Nutrition Center Supervisors., Receptionist Typists, Social Workers, and Senior Social Workers.

The Metro Department For Human Services is headquartered  at 810 Barret Avenue, with administrative offices located on the second floor.  However, The Neighborhood Place Sites and Nutrition Center Sites have workers dispersed over the entire metro area.

Chapter meetings are held the third Thursday of each month unless otherwise notified.  The meetings are usually held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in room #341 at Urban Gov. Center.

Labor-Management meetings are held quarterly.  The committee consists of three representatives from Labor and three representatives from Management.  Any worker may contact a member of the committee with a concern to take before the Committee.  The committee members’ names and numbers are listed on our web.  The Labor-Management Committee was organized to focus on positive, proactive communication and joint problem solving.
