This place is huge! It has three floors as well as an additional living unit. The yard is big and it looks great from the outside. It was set up as four apartment units around 1962.
The Bad News
The bad news is.... it needs a lot of work. These are pictures of some of the rooms. There was much drug activity in this house. It was pretty disgusting, broken windows, mouse poop everywhere, very smelly carpets and urine soaked linoleum. About half of the electrical circuits aren't working and there is live knob and tube wiring hanging down in the basement and out of some of the walls! We are surprised that it wasn't in worse condition.
The Better News
The better news is that some of the work is simple and cosmetic. The house is oozing with potential. The 10 ft ceilings on the ground floor, the main fireplace and the stairwell in the hallway are crying out for a decorators touch. The garden will look great when it is cleared. We thought that the place would look great if someone would just do some work on it. We didn't know that it would be us doing the work!
