MEXICAN DAY OF THE DEAD FAMILY FESTIVAL
"A CELEBRATION OF LIFE"
WHEN: Saturday & Sunday, November 3 and 4, 2007 11am - 4pm
WHERE: Bowers Museum 2002 N Main St. Santa Ana, CA
Come join us for two special days of celebration and remembrance. Enjoy the art and traditions of Mexico as we celebrate the Mexican days of the dead, "Dias de Los Muertos."
11am - 4pm:
*Create art projects, decorate sugar skulls, and enjoy delicious tamales, bread of the dead, and hot Mexican chocolate. Have your face painted by the famous Bowers Museum artists.
*View George Newnam's 4th annual display of life-size Skeletons in the Casa de Calaveras - House of Skeletons special exhibit!
*See the beautiful ofrendas created by artists: Genevieve Barrios Southgate, Heriberto Luna, Paula Lopez, and Richard Valdez.
*Olga Ponce Furginson, world famous paper cutting artist, demonstrates and teaches the art of Mexican papel picado.
12 and 2pm:
*Learn how to construct an ofrenda (memorial altar)
12:30:
*Dance to the joyful sounds of the Mariachi Kids
11:30am and 1:30pm:
*Folklorico dance by Grupo Los Sonadores
2:45pm:
*Performance by Xipe Totec Danza Azteca

Feast on Pan de Muerto and Mexican hot chocolate throughout the day.
