Faringdon : The home of the gummed envelope
Sunday May 13th
Welcome to Faringdon United Church and especially to any visitors with us today. We hope that you will feel at home in our fellowship. Please sign our Visitors Book as a permanent record of your visit today.
Today's Worship
This morning's worship at 10.30am is being led by Martin Whiffen. Following the service please stay with us for fellowship over light refreshments.
There will be no evening service here tonight. Instead we will be meeting for a United Service at 6.00pm at Faringdon Baptist Church.
Next Sunday
10.30am Morning Communion
Led by Mary Thomas
6.00pm Evening Worship
Led by Pete Haskins
Prayer of Dismissal
Minister : The Lord be with you
People : And also with you
All : Almighty God our heavenly Father, help us to grow in knowledge, faith and love and help us to be followers of Jesus.
Pentecost
We have planned a 'Sectional Service' (that is a service for all the Churches that Martin is responsible for) for Pentecost - 3rd June at 11.00am. The service will be held at Bampton Primary School and we hope for a good attendance!
We need
1) Someone willing to visit the Section Churches and take some video footage. (We have a camera which can be used)
2) Musicians and Singers to practice on Friday night at 7.30pm. It is important that we rehearse the music.
Youth Drop-in
We have been asked by Q the Youth worker employed by All Saints and the Baptist Churches, whether we would be prepared to host and run, perhaps with ecumenical support an after school drop-in twice a month on Friday nights.
We would like to establish a pilot scheme before the summer holidays. An initial meeting has been held and a further meeting is planned for 4pm on Friday 18th May.
S.O.S. LINK LUNCHES
Can you help Mary and Nic on May 22nd. from 12 noon until 2p.m?
This will include some washing up and serving.
Please contact Mary or Nic on 240704.
Leadership Team
A reminder to all team members that we agreed to make a mass visit to the Circuit Meeting at High Street, Witney this evening. Our extension will not be debated at this meeting, however we will be using the occasion to distribute material ready for the next meeting.
I suggest we meet in the Church Car Park at 7.00pm
Teddy Bear's Picnic
We are planning to hold a teddy Bear's Picnic (at either the Infant or Junior School) on Sunday June 17th.
We urgently need people to create / invent / organise teddy themed games. See Dinah for details.
There will be no charge for the Picnic. Instead there will be donation buckets on the gate.
