Revitalization of The Community

The township has acquired more than $1 million in grants to help enhance the area. Including:

  • The Wesley Plaza in Glenside which has received decorative pavers, ornamental streetlights, illuminated bollards, street trees and attractive receptacles and benches which will help transform the area into a receptacle for special events.

  • In 2006, enhancements are also planned for areas along Easton Road near Waverly

  • Enhancements are also planned for the following areas: Cheltenham Villiage, East Cheltenham Avenue, Elkins Park East and West.

The goal of these enhancements are to help attract new businesses and customers while retaining the existing ones, by making the commercial district more attractive and appealing which helps to make the area thrive which in turn helps stabilize property taxes!
