DONATIONS

Dear Supporter:

The goal of the Citizens for the Restoration of Historic La Mott (CROHL), a 501c3 tax exempt organization, is to preserve the historical community heritage of La Mott, located in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This community stands as an important landmark in American history. It was one of the first communities to encourage integrated living and represents a turning point in the social and racial development of residential communities in the post-Civil War era. Additionally, this country's first recruiting of authorized Federal black soldiers and their training camp, Camp William Penn, was located in La Mott. To reach the goal of CROHL, I am asking for your financial support of this worthy cause. The Montgomery County Commissioners have promised CROHL $92,000 toward the purchase of our current U. S Colored Troops Museum site but we must raise $16,000 in matching funds as soon as possible. In addition, we must raise at lease $50,000 for renovations, a sprinkler system and an alarm system for the museum.
