Coaches Clinic will be next Saturday, along with field maintenance. Coaches Handbook will be handed out. The meeting is from 9am-10am with field maintenance right after.
The dance will be rescheduled in June. We can hold onto the prepaid checks to back sure they still want the tickets.
The raffle ticket sales have been slow. The majors will ride around in developments and minors will be at superfresh to sell tickets. One adult MUST stay with players at all times. The Majors may go at anytime the minors have a schedule but may trade with another team. If players want credit for tickets they have sold they must be turned in to Cindy by April 10th.
Cindy will have a fundraising meeting with the parents from each team during pictures on the bleachers. She will have basket bingo info and letter campaign information. The Basket Bingo is May 18th. April 4th is Roy Rogers’s night for Little League. We will receive 25% of the profit from 5pm-8pm. If we would like another day let Cindy know.
Curtis wants everyone to give him a name of one person from each team that will attend the CPR class. It will be held in Keedysville and is from 8am-1pm.
Jeff will put a chart together for the pitch count. Each team will keep one with the home team’s being the official one. Check after each inning if not the same we will go to the umpires. A book will be kept in the press box and the managers must fill it in after each game. You are allowed 2 intential walks a game but not on same player in majors. No intential walks in minors. Have the managers sign off on each others books. We will not go back after an inning for any discrepancies.
Umpires clinic was canceled. Kevin is not sure when it will be held but he will send out a mass email. The umpires would like to work scrimmages so they can get in some practice. Mike has set up a time for the umpires to get their pictures taken on opening day. The umpires can buy them if they would like. There is a lot of information on Clearwater umpire.com Kevin would like to have an umpire section on the little League website. You can talk to other umpires from all over the world on the Clearwater website. The state of Michigan lets high school students do the umpiring as their graduation projects.
Coaches let Kevin or Tony know about scrimmages so they can give their umpires some practice.
The scoreboard is good until 2008. Coke Company is coming to fix the coke refrigerators. Should we get peanuts for the concession stand?
The sprinkler system will be done this week. Also Darren raised the question that if we fix the PVYA mower can we use it. Darren will check with Carl Struss. PVYA softball will use one sportsplex field on Tues, Thurs, and Saturday after 4pm. We may use the softball field on the high school property if okay with Perry Baker.
The majors may not use the major field for a few days it is to wet to practice on. Curtis would like to put a fence around the batting cage and leave about 6feet around batting cage.
The sprinkler line needs to be covered with dirt. We also need a side cutter for warning track but would like Keith to do it so no one hits the sprinkler system. Big kids were caught playing ball on top of the tarps at the major field. Darren will get with minor managers and coaches about what needs done on their field. Keith is looking for an air conditioning system like at the majors. The cp field needs to be rolled and drug and the pitchers mound needs built. Also there is a new lock on the door of the spare room down there. The t-ball field looks good. Have someone look at broken pitching machine. There is no water at the cp or tball fields.
The sign for the major fence that we are getting donations for need to be ordered. Some prices have been gotten but would like a few more.
There will be a light meeting at city hall Thursday at 7pm. Keith would like as much support as possible.
Opening day will be April 14th; a picture schedule will come out soon. Calls have been placed to past presidents, the mayor and council. Darren will call and get the ambulance and Fire Company there at 10:45am for the parade. Karen will call Diane for the police escort through town. We would like to have a singer for the national anthem if anyone knows someone who would be interested. Brad will ask Abbey Ricketts to throw out the first pitch.
Darren needs some help to put the minor’s batting cage up.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:35pm
