Important Note About DID
Why make this web page?
Link exchanges & the like

This group of pages focuses on recovery and/or therapy issues for Christians, including dissociative disorders, such as MPD (now named DID, Dissociative Identity Disorder).  There is a group of basic handouts that may be used in a support group or given to clients and their family and friends.  Ministering to people with multiple personalities is also discussed, and one person who used to have DID tells her story. If you, or someone you care about, suffers from DID this story will hopefully be an encouragement to you.  Some discussion of deliverance and the controversies surrounding it is included in these pages.  Feedback to the Church (not any one church, but the true Body of Christ which is comprised of individuals from many denominations) from people in recovery is being gathered and will be presented as well.   While this writer believes that God can and does heal spiritually, psychologically and physically today, it also recognizes that God does not always choose to do so instantaneously. This ministry seeks to provide a safe place to receive spiritual encouragement, education and individually tailored discipleship from a Christian perspective during the very difficult process of personal growth and change.

Important Note about DID (MPD):  I wish to make it very clear that I do not believe that DID (MPD) is demonic.  I believe that people with DID can have demons just as people who do not have DID can be afflicted by demons, but the two are not the same experience and can happen separately or together.  For more details, please see Ministering to Individuals with DID and Ministering Deliverance to Individuals with DID I do have real life experience with talking to alternate personalities on numerous occasions.  I have also talked to demons in manifestation on several occasions as well.

Concerning triggers:  Individuals who either know or suspect they suffered ritual abuse should be aware that they may be triggered while reading material on deliverance and either not read this material or exercise self-care while doing so.  Note that there is no specific information about the particulars of various kinds of ritual abuse on these pages; this warning is more along the lines that certain theological expressions are used which can trigger some people who endured ritual abuse. For example, simply mentioning some theology involving that which the wine (or grape juice) represents in communion can trigger some people who suffered ritual abuse.  Another example would be reference to fallen angels and their leader by name.  Readers who are sensitive to those particular words but want to read the material on these pages, may wish to print off the pages on deliverance without reading them now and read them later in a safe place (such as with their therapist's support).  Readers who are sensitive to specific occult terms or symbols may wish to exercise the same caution with the material on cursed objects.

What's New?

New April 14, 2000

Check out a new and very helpful book:  Red Dragon Cast Down, by Dr. E. James Wilder.

Also, added site search and translation capability to the home page.  To be done in the future, translation of other pages.

New February 5, 2000

Since these pages were originally written I have had the opportunity to learn about a ministry called Alathia. Out of that ministry comes an approach to healing called Theophostic.  I now recommend Theophostic over any other Christian approach to healing or deliverance that I've witnessed or read about. Click here to read more of my opinion about this approach and its developer. In addition, I've learned of an organization called the Christian Society for the Healing of Dissociative Disorders.  I strongly recommend this organization's conferences.  In addition, I found Jennifer Freyd's book, Betrayal Trauma excellent for laypeople and professionals alike.  (Note:  Jennifer Freyd is a professor of psychology, not to be confused with her parents who formed the FMSF.)  Also added a few more links and some minor updates to the information on deliverance.  Minor recent updates may be found in this color text.  Major updates can be found by searching on the word NEW!

Another contribution to What People with DID Want the Church to Hear has been added.

New January 2, 1999

At last the long promised story of an individual who used to have DID is here.

New September 5, 1998

Contributions from two people with DID (MPD) have been added to What People with DID Want the Church to Hear.  Some introductory comments have also been added.

Also, the site has been rearranged slightly.  In addition to adding frames for easier navigation (and maintenance of links), the Web Rings have been moved to a separate page due to the long loading time of the graphics in them.

New August 2, 1998

I've got another new page under development.  I'm calling for contributions via email.  Please click on one of these topics if you'd like to contribute (you may do so anonymously):

New July 30, 1998

A new paragraph has been added to the page on ministering to people with DID:  How long does it take to obtain complete freedom?

New July 26, 1998

I've got two new pages under development.  I'm calling for contributions via email.  Please click on one of these topics if you'd like to contribute (you may do so anonymously):

There's also a new page:   A Description of Trauma Recovery for Children.  It's written to be given to the children of someone whose recovery from childhood trauma is noticeable.  It's written in simple language without mentioning terms like PTSD or multiple personalities so that the children don't accidently disclose their parent's diagnosis to someone.  Sidran Press also has an excellent booklet on DID written for children.
