Classic Comic Books Home Page

The following is an index to some comic book stories offering political and social commentary.

The links are to the articles, where these characters and tales are usually discussed in depth, along with many other aspects of the tales.

Each story title is followed by a brief description of its political content.

This brief index is intended to help researchers locate and read stories relating to political topics. It is NOT an attempt to summarize the complete meanings of the stories. Stories with a common theme are not all alike: anti-war or pro-Civil Rights stories vary wildly in their political ideas and fictional approaches.

This article is not a complete list of political stories in comic books - it hardly covers any post-1970 material, for example.
