Some tips and pics of a Hudson type USCM Rifleman.
Bill Kern of Poppo Toys has stepped up to the plate to deliver a really great Hudson Head which I have already mounted on my Hudson figure. Have a look!

The Helmet, back of the neck armor, and the headphone are painted in authentic, Humbrol, camouflage colors, and weathered liberally for effect. The helmet was slotted to accept the neck guard webbing. The inside of the neck armor received a "ballistic cloth" cover. A pack of Marlboros and an M40 Grenade Round under the helmet band add the finishing touch.
A few pics of a figure I just finished....

A blast to create, this figure has working buckles all around. Damage to the helmet strike plate is accentuated with "Ouch!". "SEMPER FI" w/ skull is on one shoulder guard, "F--- 'em up!" is on the other. Blood Type: O+ is painted above the heart. Yes, there is that Lock and Hasp thing again. Hey, I like it and conceivably it may have been a common practice in the USCMC. It could happen. A pack of "Death" Cigarettes, and an M40 Grenade Round are tucked under the helmet band. More pics to come.... Stay Frosty!

A little fun with the kit helmet and cloth cover...
The helmet cover, was washed four times in cold water and air dried. After it was installed on the helmet, per instructions, it was lightly sanded for highlighting, and to create a distressed look. Along the left front rim of the helmet, the cloth cover was sanded through and the exposed helmet surface painted a steel color, and highlighted with metallic silver.
The inside of the neck armor received a "ballistic cloth" cover. American flag and "Bug Stomper" patches, both digital transfer prints on scale fabric, adorn the front and back of the helmet. Note the detail on the inside of the headphone, and the pull-down infrared sight.
A pack of Marlboros under the helmet band, and a green helmet strap are the finishing touches.
