The Lymington Library

Lymington library opened in March 2002 and is part of the Hampshire County Council Library and Information Service. The library holds books, spoken word cassettes, music CDs, videos and DVDs and Play Station games for loan. It also houses the main Reference and Local Studies Collection for the New Forest area.
The library also offers free internet access under the government funded People’s Network Initiative. There are 9 PCs with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access and scanning and printing facilities.
It is free to join the library and there is no age limit for joining the Children’s library.
The Children’s Library offers picture books, fiction for all ages and reading abilities, information books, an 11+ section, comfortable seating, study table and 2 internet computers. A variety of activities are held during the school holidays and story time for the under-5’s every Tuesday during term-time from 2.15 pm-2.45 pm.
The Membership desk and Enquiries desks offer help to customers with reference and local studies enquiries. Trained staff are able to offer assistance with the internet PCs and occasional internet taster sessions are held. There are notice boards and leaflets to publicise local events and visitor attractions. Lymington Library Reading Group meets at the library on the first Thursday of each month at 7.15 pm. Monday: 9.30 am to 7.00pm, Tuesday: 9.30 am to 1.00 pm, Wednesday 9.30 am to 7.00 pm, Thursday 9.30 am to 7.00 pm, Friday 9.30 am to 5.00 pm, Saturday 9.30 am to 7.00 pm.
