General Art and Drawing
- Tutor: Frances Mason
Tuesdays 10 am - 12 noon
This is a general painting and drawing class for those who have done the
beginners‘ course or have some previous experience. The tutor will provide
tuition on a group, or individual basis, as required. Students are encouraged
to develop their work in a subject and medium of their choice.
Beginners Art
- Tutor: Frances Mason
Tuesdays 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm
This class provides an introduction to drawing and painting and is suitable
for total beginners and those with a little experience. It will cover
the basic elements of drawing in line, tone and the use of perspective,
using various drawing media, along with an introduction to colour and
painting in pastels and watercolour. Students may specialise in one medium,
i.e. watercolour, if they prefer.
Water Colour Art Group
- Tutor: Melvin Gates
Thursdays 2 pm - 4 pm
An opportunity for art students to develop further their skills in watercolour
art. Melvin is a well known and highly respected local artist who will
extend the students’ knowledge of this interesting and exciting art medium.
Not suitable for beginners.

Beginners level course designed to enable the older learner to start with
the basics of home computing. Letters, spreadsheets, e-mail etc.
Getting more
from your Computer (Improvers)

Thursdays 7 pm – 9 pm
For those who have attended a beginners course or already have some
computer experience. Syllabus includes Windows XP, icons, desktop, spreadsheets,
use of colour, graphics, art and design etc.
The Digital
Camera and Image Manipulation
Tutor: Melvin Gates
Tuesdays 2.30 pm 4.30 pm
This course is designed for the digital camera owner. How to get the best
from your camera. How to use your computer to manipulate and improve your
photographs. Layout and printing techniques, etc.
Introduction
to the Internet

Know how to use
a computer but nervous about exploring the Internet? This short 2½
hour course will quickly get you surfing.

The Lymington Community Association is a registered R.Y.A. shore based training
establishment with a long and very successful history of providing high
quality training for the boating enthusiast. All Tutors are RYA accredited

A 22 week (2 term) course following the RYA Day Skipper Syllabus for beginners.
A course designed for those persons new to boating. Essential for safety
at sea, understanding tides, winds, rules, regulations etc.
Coastal
Skipper/Yachtmaster (Intermediate Level):

Monday 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm or Tuesday 7.30 pm 9.30 pm. Commencing
week beginning 6th October 2003.
A 24 week (2 term) course following the R.Y.A. Syllabus for Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster
Navigation. This is an intermediate level course for those who have already
completed the RYA Day Skipper (Beginners) Course. Accepted as the minimum
level of proficiency by most yacht charter companies.
Ocean (Astro)
Thursday 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm. Commencing week beginning 6th October 2003
A 22 week (2 term) course following the most advanced RYA Navigation Syllabus.
Only suitable for those who have completed the intermediate level course.
Essential for the most ambitious of sailors.

Marine VHF Radio Certificate:
