F.A.M.E. Event Calendar

F.A.M.E. will be hosting their 5th annual Black History Program Saturday, February 22, 2003, 6:30pm at the Discovery Theater in downtown Battle Creek.  The theme for this years program will be "United We Stand."  The program will feature fashions from ABC Boutique, which will be highlighted with an African American wedding scene.  Vocals will be performed by local artist and a poem will be read in dedicated to F.A.M.E. in recognition of their ongoing effort to help bring justice to the unsolved homicide victims of the Battle Creek area.

F.A.M.E. will present their annual Award of Recognition to the individual that they feel has made a significant contribution, or has enhanced the environment of the African Americans by way of their dedicated and ongoing effort.   This year we have chosen Pastor Elmer Hess to be the recipient of that award.  The establishing of his radio station is a tool that can serve as a means to provide media coverage to the African American Community, which will  keep us informed as to important issues and events involving the Black Community that we may not have been aware of.  This opens the door for a new means of mass communications that will not be edited and controlled by the powers that be.
