F.A.M.E. Newsletter

Vice President of F.A.M.E.

F.A.M.E. would like to announce to the community that we have given out our first grant from the F.A.M.E. Scholarship Fund.  We would like to thank everyone who have supported our fund raising programs through the years, and those who have made contributions to the fund, because without your support and generous donations, none of this would have been possible.  It is very important to us that the community be made aware of this particular event because we want those who have contributed to our Scholarship/Endowment Fund to know that their money is being used for the purposes that it was originally intended.  That purpose is to assist children of unsolved homicide victims in accordance with the criteria specified in the governing rules and regulations agreed upon between the F.A.M.E. Scholarship Committee and the Battle Creek Community Foundation.  Thanks again, and we are hoping for your continued support for this very worthwhile cause!

We would like to also recognize the work that the Calhoun County Cold Case Team has been doing over the past couple of years.  They have made arrest in several cases on the long list of unsolved homicides in the Battle Creek and Calhoun County area.  There certainly is much more work to be done regarding this very sensitive subject, but I think that it is appropriate for us to give credit to those who are assigned to this special unit for the work they are doing and what they have accomplished at this point.  We all realize that there are still many cases that remain unsolved, but we will continue to hope and pray that this number will decrease as we move forward in an effort to bring closure to the families of these victims.
