Starlight and Time by D. Russell Humphreys,
Ph.D. (Creation Life Publishers, Inc., 1994; ISBN 0-89051-202-7).
In this book,
Dr. Humphreys puts forth a cosmological theory
consistent with the first chapter of Genesis , relativity
theory, and current knowledge of black holes/singularities.
Gravity time dilation and the cosmological constant are used
to explain how the light from distant stars could have travelled
billions of light years during the passage of a only a few days
from the earth's reference frame. The proposed theory is consistent
with and explains the background microwave radiation and the
red shift of galaxies. This is must reading for anyone who has
struggled with the starlight and time question. A video tape of a lecture
by Dr. Humphreys is available from Creation Science Fellowship,
Inc.; P.O. Box 99303; Pittsburgh, PA 15233-4303; (412) 341-4908.

A Brief History of Eternity
by Professor Roy E. Peacock (Crossway Books, 1990; ISBN 0-89107-573-9).
This is a creationist response to Stephen Hawking's
A Brief History of Time. Professor Peacock
challenges Hawking's model of a universe without beginning
or end (finite without boundaries) by showing that the Second
Law of Thermodynamics must always be obeyed.
The Earth, the Stars, and the
Bible by Paul M. Steidl (Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing
Company, Phillipsburg, NJ, 1979). Mr. Steidl, an astronomer
with an M.S. degree, cites much evidence for a young Earth and
solar system. He uses several chronometers: meteors, comets, dust
on the moon, the earth's magnetic field, various geochemical processes,
radioisotopic dating, and more.
Age of the Cosmos by Harold
S Slusher, D.Sc. (Institute for Creation Research, 1980;
ISBN 0-932766-03-X). In this technical monograph, Dr. Slusher
discusses clusters of galaxies, Oblers Paradox, the speed of
light, comets, the Poynting- Robertson Effect, and Saturn's rings
from a creationist perspective. The possible existence of Riemann
(curved) space as an explanation to the starlight/time question
is presented.
Astronomy and the Bible, Questions
and Answers by Donald B. Young (Baker, 1988; ISBN
0-8010-2991-0). This book contains answers in layman's language
to over 100 questions about astronomy and the Bible from a creationist
perspective. The meaning of terms such as "black hole" and "quasar"
are explained. What the Bible teaches about astronomy is discussed.

Reaping
the Whirlwind by Rosey Dow
(Winepress Publishing, 2000; ISBN 1-57921-296-4). This historical
mystery retells the story of the Scopes Trial (so called
"monkey trial") which took place in Dayton Tennessee in 1925.
While some of the characters are fictitious, the story line surrounding
the trail is completely factual. The logical behavioral outworkings
of an atheistic evolutionary worldview is explored in the characters
of the story. The book is entertaining, educational, and thought
provoking.
Tornado in a Junkyard, The
Relentless Myth of Darwinismby James Perloff
(Refuge Books, 1999, ISBN: 0-9668160-0-5). This comprehensive,
up-to-date, and well written book by a baby-boomer and former
hippie/evolutionist/atheist/Marxist is for the Christian and
non-Christian alike. Mr Perloff deals with the fossil record,
abiogenesis, alleged evidence for human evolution, the Flood,
the ice age, radiometric dating, the Big Bang theory, dinosaurs,
the Scopes Trial (infamous "monkey" trial), and the social/philosophical/political/moral
consequences of evolutionism. There is also a section on the great
scientists of the past who were creationists (Newton, Pascal, Pasteur,
etc). The book is well documented and has numerous and rare photographs.

Scientific Creationism by
Henry M Morris (Master Books,1985; ISBN: 0-89051-003-2).
This book is an excellent introduction to all aspects of creationism
including scientific and theological issues. If you are looking
for a place to start or just want a concise yet comprehensive
overview, this is it.
The Biblical Basis for Modern
Science by Henry M. Morris (Baker, 1984; ISBN 0-8010-6178-4)
Dr. Morris clearly explains what the Bible teaches us about
the natural world and universe and then demonstrates the harmony
between the Bible and facts of science. This comprehensive work
touches on astronomy, cosmology, geology, biology, paleontology,
the Flood, ethnology, thermodynamics, chemistry, physics, and
anthropology.
The Genesis Record by Dr.
Henry M. Morris (Baker Book House, 1976; ISBN 0-8010-6004-4).
This book is a verse by verse commentary on the book of Genesis
written from a scientific and theological perspective.
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God
hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him
from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood
by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse (ROMANS 1:19-20).
Unlocking the Mystery of Life
(Illustra Media, 2002). This video
summarizes much of the Intelligent Design movement's arguments. The concept
of irreducible complexity is explained with state-of-the-art-graphics. William
Dembski, Michael Behe, Phillip Johnson, Dean Kenyon, Jonathan Wells, Stephen
Meyer, and others appear in this video.
No Free Lunch by William A Dembski (Rowman and Littlefield,
2002, ISBN: 0-7425-1297-5). This is an update of Dr. Demski's work on the
detection of design. He discusses in detail the Explanatory Filter (design
detection via the contingency, complexity, specification criteria), the
Law of Conservation of Information. Evolutionary algorithms, computer programs
which allegedly mimik evolution via natural selection and generate complex
information, are shown to merely smuggle in the information they purportedly
generate. The concept of irreducible complexity is also refined and shown
to be useful for detecting design.
How Now Shall We Live? by Charles Colson and Nancy
Pearcey (Tyndale, 1999; ISBN: 0-8423-1808-9). This book shows
how the materialistic/evolutionary philosophy of the West
has lead to a breakdown in society at all levels. Colson uses a
"creation, fall, redemption" filter to evaluate competing worldviews
and thereby shows Christianity fits the real world best. He describes
the effects of materialism on law, social policy, education,
pop culture, art, psychology, the family, sex, politics, and ethics.
He diagnoses society through the lens of a biblical worldview and
then offers real solutions and alternatives.
In Six Days edited by John F. Ashton,
Ph.D. (Master Books, 2001; ISBN: 0-89051-341-4). This book includes
the scientific and theological testimonies of 50 current Ph.D.
scientists who all believe in a literal interpretation of
Genesis 1, especially with regards to a literal 6 x 24 hour creation week.
These scientists come from various backgrounds personally and scientifically.
Many are converted evolutionists. Included are physicists,
chemists, geologists, engineers, information specialists,
medical doctors, biologists, meteorologists, and mathematicians.
Icons of Evolution: Science
or Myth by
Jonathan Wells , Ph.D. (Regnery Publishing,
Inc., 2000; ISBN: 0-89526-276-2). Dr. Wells (who holds a Ph.D.from
UC at Berkely in molecular and cell biology) clearly explains how
many of the "proofs" (icons) of evolution being taught in current
secondary school and college biology textbooks have been disproven,
are fraudulent, or are speculative at best. More disturbing is that
many leading evolutionary scientists are fully aware of this but
have done little to correct the situation. Indeed, some feel that
introducing such "controversial" revelations into the classroom, though
true, would only "confuse" students. The "icons" include the Miller-Urey
experiment on the the origin of life, Darwin's tree of life, homology
of vertebrate limbs, Haeckel's embryos, Archaeopteryx, peppered moths,
Darwin's finches, horse evolution, and human evolution. See an online
debate between Dr.Wells and evolutionist
Massimo Pigluicci in which Icons is discussed. See presentations

Refuting Evolution by
Jonathan Sarfati (Master Books, 1999; ISBN: 0-89051-258-2).
This book is a response to the National Academy of Sciences'
Teaching Evolution and the Nature of Science,
a recent attempt to persuade educators to teach particles-to-people
evolution as fact.. Dr. Sarfati (Ph.D. physical chemistry)
discusses many of the points contained in Teaching Evolution
in light of up-to-date findings in the scientific literature.
He deals with the problems of missing links, bird evolution,
whale evolution, human evolution, the information content in
living things, big bang theory, and dating methods. He tears
down the straw man that creationists deny biological change by clearly
distinguishing between micro and macro evolution.
Intelligent
Design : The Bridge between Science and Theology
by
William A. Dembski (InterVarsity Press, 1999, ISBN
0-8308-1581-3). William Dembski holds Ph.D.s in mathematics and
philosophy. He puts the detection of intelligent design on an
empirical basis by use of a "contingent, complex, and specified"
information (CSI) criteria. He developes the Law of Conservation
of Information which states that the information content of a closed
system can not increase but can only be transmitted or degraded.
He demonstrates that natural processes plus chance (e.g. the Neo
Darwinian mechanism of chance mutations acted upon by natural selection) are
inadequate for the production of CSI and as an explanation for
the origin of life. This work firmly places intelligent design
on a scientific basis which can not be ignored. Click here to download

Not By Chance!
Shattering the Modern Theory of Evolution by Lee Spetner
(The Judacia Press, Inc.,1998; ISBN 1-880582-24-4). Dr. Spetner
persuasively shows through sound theoretical calculations, population
genetics, biochemistry, and information theory that the proposed
Neo Darwinian evolutionary mechanism for macroevolution of random
mutations acted upon by natural selection does not work. He cites
many documented examples of where changes in the phenotype were
a function of gene activation/expression and not associated with
a change in the genome. He concludes that much of the alleged
fossil evidence for evolution may merely reflect an organism's genetically
built-in ability to respond to environmental factors by selective
gene activation/repression and not by generation of new genetic
information. Click here to download a
PowerPoint slide presentation of this book.
Darwin's Black Box: The Biochemical
Challenge to Evolution by Michael J. Behe
(The Free Press, 1996; ISBN 0-684-82754-9) In this book Dr.
Behe examines several biochemical systems and structures in light
of the concept of irreducible complexity. A system is considered irreducibly
complex if all of its component parts are essential to its
function. Flagella, cilia, blood clotting, intracellular transport,
and the operation of the immune system are discussed at the
molecular level and shown to be irreducibly complex systems which
could not have evolved in a gradualistic manner. The biochemical
pathway which produces AMP is shown to be too complex to have arisen
by chance. Intelligent design is offered as the most scientific explanation
for these phenomena.
Evolution: The Fossils Still
Say No! by Dr. Duane T. Gish (Institute for Creation
Research, 1995; ISBN 0-89051-112-8) In this thoroughly revised
and up-to-date edition of his book Evolution: The Fossils
Say No!, Dr. Gish systematically shows the complete absence
of transitional forms (missing links) in the fossil record.
He discusses recapitulation, the origin of man, living fossils,
alleged transitional species (e.g. archaeopteryx), punctuated
equilibrium, and much more. Dr. Gish is perhaps the most effective
debater for creationism today.
Creation Scientists Answer Their
Critics by Duane T. Gish (Institute for Creation Research,
1993; ISBN 0-932766-28-5). Dr. Gish is at his best in this
thorough refutation of evolutionary theory. He answers those
who have accused creation scientists of dishonesty and poor
scholarship and exposes the biased motivation often behind these
attacks.
Evolution: A Theory in Crisis
by Michael Denton (Alder & Alder,Publishers, Inc., 1986;
ISBN 0-917561-05-8). Although Dr. Denton is not a creationist,
he cannot accept traditional evolutionary theory. Taking
a biochemical approach, Denton shows that the amino acid sequences
in cytochrome C from species spanning the entire biological
world do not support the theory of progressive evolution of one
species into another. The theory of punctuated equilibrium, advanced
by Harvard paleontologist Steven Jay Gould, is also discounted.
A rich discussion of the thought and life of Charles Darwin is
intertwined with the discussion. He concludes by likening the theory
of evolution to the theory of epicycles which eventually crumbled
from the weight of the evidence against it. This is one of those
books that is hard to put down. Read a Michael Denton

Evolution...Fact or Belief is
a 1 hour video created by CESHE (Cercle Historique et Scientifique;
9, Ave. Du General Leclerc, 59170 Croix-France) available
from Master Books (800-999-3777). This comprehensive video demonstrates
the validity of the young earth creationist position through
interviews with an international panel of experts who discuss
various topics including radiometric dating, the Grand Canyon,
Mt. Saint Helens, gaps in fossil record, sedimentary layer and strata
formation, genetics, and more. Experimental and photographic evidence
for the possible rapid formation of sedimentary rock formations
via a lateral deposition mechanism is presented which can acount
for the order of fossils in the fossil record. There are many photographs
and animations. They conclude that in light of the evidence, evolutionary
theory is simply a "fairy tale for grownups."
The Mystery of
Life's Origin: Reassessing Current Theories
by Charles B. Thaxton, Walter L Bradley, and Roger L. Olsen (Philosophical
Library, 1984; ISBN 0- 8022-2447-4) In this book endorsed
by Robert Jastrow and Dean Kenyon, the authors discuss the problems
of theories concerning the spawning of life from non-life. After
a review of laboratory experiments aimed at recreating the primordial
earth in hopes of generating simple life, the authors systematically
present many of the problems which must be addressed before
a materialistic theory of life's origin can be embraced. They
suggest that although there is plenty of energy, there is no
natural mechanism to do the "configurational entropy work" needed
to build complex biological molecules.
Origins and Destiny by Dr.
Robert Gange (Word Books, 1986; ISBN 0- 8499-0447-1). In
this book endorsed by Eugene P. Wigner (Nobel prize in physics),
Dr. Gange discusses the Second Law of Thermodynamics as
it relates to information content and complexity. He demonstrates
that the information content in a closed system (e.g. the universe)
can only decrease with time and suggests that the information content
of DNA is far greater than that of the universe outside of living
things.
Evolution: Possible or Impossible?
by James F. Coppedge (Zondervan, 1973; ISBN 0-310-22491-8).
Dr. Coppedge's book discusses molecular biology and the laws
of chance in non-technical language. The probabilities of forming
DNA and proteins are discussed.
The Creation of Life-a Cybernetic
Approach to Evolution by A.E.Wilder-Smith (T.W.F.T.

TEXAS TRACKS AND ARTIFACTS: Do
Texas Fossils Indicate Coexistence of Men and Dinosaurs?
by Robert F. Helfinstine and Jerry D. Roth (1994 by Robert
F. Helfinstine and Jerry D. Roth; Library of Congress Catalog
Card Number: 94-96128). This book traces the history up to
1994 of the investigation of alleged man-tracks found near dinosaur
tracks in the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas . Topics
include the dinosaur and man-like tracks, a fossilized human finger,
fossil teeth which appear to be human, a metal hammer found in Cretaceous
rock, the Burdick Track (human in appearance), and a Lepidodenron
root fossil. While absolute proof for the human origin of the mysterious
tracks is still lacking, the weight of the evidence clearly favors
the human interpretation. The book is fully documented and contains
dozens of photographs and illustrations. Call (817)897-3200 to
order the book or write to the Creation
Evidences Museum .
Darwin on Trial by Phillip
E Johnson (Intervarsity Press,1993; ISBN 0-8308-1324-1).
Mr. Johnson, a law professor at the University of California
at Berkley, approaches evolution from a philosophical perspective.
He persuasively shows that the idea of the "fact of evolution"
stems from metaphysical presuppositions which favor materialism
and not from scientific evidence. He systematically considers
the fossil record, molecular biology, abiogenesis, and natural selection.

The Revised Quote Book
edited by Andrew Snelling (Creation Science Foundation, Ltd.,
Australia, 1990; ISBN 0-949906-10-7) Dr Snelling has compiled
this collection of quotations from leading evolutionists caught
in moments of candor about evolutionary theory. The quotes reveal
just how little there is in the way of hard data to support
the specifics of evolutionary scenarios.
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that
in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord
blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it (EXODUS 20:11).
Proceedings from the Fifth International
Conference on Creationism (August 2003): Many of the papers presented
at ICC5 are available for free download at http://www.icr.org/research/.
Most of the papers deal with geochronology and the latest research
of the RATE effort. Amung the results are radiocarbon evidence that the
sedimentary layers of the earth were deposited recently and simultaneously,
He retention in zircons indicating accelerated nuclear decay in the past,
and more data which indicate isochrons can form from mjixing of melted
rocks instead of nuclear decay. All of the results are summarized in one
of the papers: Radioisotopes
and the Age of the Earth.
Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth (R.A.T.E.),
edited by Larry Vardiman, Andrew A Snelling and Eugene F. Chaffin
(ICR and CRS, 2000; ISBN: 0-932766-62-5) This book contains
the best, most in-depth, and most recent thinking on this critical
subject from some of the creation movement's foremost scientists.
Written in a thorough and technical manner, the book discusses
radiometric dating of all the major isotopes, isochrons, radiohalos,
and accelerated nuclear decay. This material is the basis of several
research proposals presented at the end of this book. The research
is underway and has already made significant progress, especially
with regards to the amount of He retained in minerals and present in
the atmosphere; the RATE group has shown that He diffuses through biotite
rapidly as predicted. The implication of this discovery is a young
earth where rapid radioactive decay occurred sometime in the past, probably
before day 3 of creation week and possibly during the Flood. Click
here

The Mythology of Modern Dating Methods
by John Woodmorappe
(Institute of Creation Research, 1999; ISBN: 0-932766-57-9). Woodmorappe
points out many of the flaws and assumptions built into radiometric
dating of metamorphic and igneous rocks, especially as it is applied
to sedimentary strata by dating intrusions. Some of the problems
include isochrons resulting from the mixing of magmas (not radioisotope
decay), selective reporting of older “dates”, the statistically
likely agreement of various dating methods giving the same “age”,
open system behavior, after-the-fact rejection of radiometric dates
due to disagreement with biostratigraphy or other accepted criteria
even though there was no evidence that the rock was ever perturbed
in any way and good isochrons were obtained, and rocks of known age
which gave anomalous results with radiometric methods. Many of the
rationalizations used to explain "discordant" results are examined.
The Young Age of the
Earth, a video by Robert V. Gentry ( Earth Science Associates
, 1996; phone: (800)467-6380, 76 minutes). This excellent
video features Robert and David Gentry, Walter Brown, and Andrew
Snelling. The young age of the earth is demonstrated by parentless
polonium radiohalos in granites and the amounts of helium in zircons
found deep in the earth's crust. Radiohalo evidence for rapid coal
deposit formation, giant coal beds, huge dinosaurs graveyards, polystrate
trees, dinosaur tracks in coal seams, and other data are best explained
by the Flood. Dr. Brown's hydroplate theory is used to explain how
the Flood could have caused mountains, continental drift, the Grand Canyon,
and the mid-Atlantic ridge.
The Young Earth by Dr. John
D. Morris (Master Books, 1994; ISBN 0- 89051-174-8). This
book contains the latest creationist geological thought. Dr.
Morris discusses radioisotopic dating, the earth's magnetic field,
the Grand Canyon, Mt. St. Helen, continental drift., the Petrified
Forest, various geochemical processes, and more. There are transparency
masters included.
Grand Canyon: Monument to Catastrophe
edited by Dr. Steven A. Austin (Institute for Creation Research,
1994; ISBN 0-932766-33-1). This book explains the formation
of the Grand Canyon - stratum by stratum - from a creationist/global
flood perspective. Dr. Austin, who authors the majority of
the chapters, has personally conducted much field research and
led guided tours in the canyon. Contains an excellent discussion
of radioisotopic dating methods. This book is packed with beautiful
color photographs, 3-D maps, and is extensively documented.
Mount St. Helens: Explosive Evidence
for Creation (Steve Austin, Institute for
Creation Research, 58 min.) is a video documentary on the May
18, 1980 eruption and subsequent field research of the famous
volcano. Narrated by geologist Dr. Steve Austin, this video presents
first hand evidence that many geological phenomena can occur
very rapidly (within days to weeks) including formation of a 100
ft.deep canyon in solid rock, formation of 600 ft.of finely layered
strata and associated canyons (1/40 scale of the Grand Canyon),
transportation and reburial of thousands of trees in an upright position
as seen in the Petrified Forest, and formation of a 3 ft.deep peat
bog-potentially the precursor to coal formation.
Creation's Tiny Mystery, Third Edition, by Dr. Robert V. Gentry (Earth Science
Associates, 1992; ISBN 0-9616753-3-0) Based on years of
laboratory research published in Science and
Nature, Dr.
Gentry explains how the plethora of radiohalos of short lived (3
minute half life) polonium in samples of mica and granites, taken
near the bottom of the earth's crust, require that the earth's mantle
must have formed almost instantaneously rather than over millions
of years. The evidence presented rules out uranium and its daughter
elements-including radon-as the source of the polonium suggesting
that only a few minutes elapsed between nucleosynthesis and
mantle formation, consistent with the Genesis account. Polonium
radiohalos found in partially coalified wood samples in several
Colorado sites tie three geological time periods allegedly spanning
millions of years into one rapid event: the Genesis Flood. Evolutionary
geologists have failed to offer superior alternative explanations.

The Waters Above: Earth's Pre-Flood
Vapor Canopy by Joseph C. Dillow, Th.D. [Moody Press,
1981; ISBN 0-8024-9198-7]. This book provides the scriptural
support for and scientific implications of a pre-Flood vapor canopy.
The vapor canopy theory may explain the origin of the Flood
waters, pre- and post-Flood human longevity (it decreased dramatically
after the Flood), the apparent once global tropical climate, the
lack of rain and rainbows before the Flood, the timing and reason
for the extinction of the dinosaurs, vast graveyards of mammoths
and other animals found completely intact (as if frozen in their footsteps),
and more.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek (ROMANS 1:16).
And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in
number daily (ACTS 16:5).
