The Strange Tale of the Little Silver Christmas Bell

The little silver Christmas bell sat on the shelf with all the other bells, happy as Larry. There were red bells and green bells, gold bells and purple bells. And on the shelf below there were baubles and icicles and stars and many sparkling angels.
"I am a little silver Christmas bell and I am going to ring out on Christmas day," murmured the little bell to himself in a voice so quiet that no-one could hear him.
"I was made to ring and that is just what I am going to do. I can't wait !" he said in great excitement.

"Oh look!" she said, "Look at the beautiful bells."
"Would you like a bell to hang on the Christmas tree, Sheila?" said the girl's mother.
"Yes, yes.... Let's get a bell !" said the girl called Sheila looking at them all in delight.
The little silver Christmas bell sat up very brightly on his shelf in the hope of being noticed.
"Please choose me. Choose me....." he said so quietly that no-one heard him.
"Would you like the gold one Sheila or what about this blue glittery one ?" said the girl's mother.
"No. I like the silver one best," said the girl called Sheila. "Let's get it."
