Up up up into dazzling sunlight flew the magic horse, Whisperer. Looking down the Secret One could see the great ocean below them. Whales basked there flicking their huge tails. Albatrosses called to them as they passed. Icebergs glittered in the deep blue. Soon they were passing over glaciers and snow capped mountains and dark forests.
"How far is it to the end of the world ?" said Sylvie Chanson clasping her hands tightly around the Secret One's waist.
"All of time and no time at all," whispered the magic horse.
In what seemed like just a short while they found themselves descending through snow white clouds down to a great ravine. They could hear the roaring and thundering of a great torrent of water bursting over the falls. A cloud of vapour hung in the air making a rainbow around them.
"Come wash yourselves in the living water," called Whisperer.
And so the Secret One and Sylvie Chanson sprang from the edge of the bank into the great tide of pure icy water and came up laughing.
And all at once the Secret One could see that a strange thing had happened. For Sylvie Chanson was no longer the sad and weary shadow he had rescued from the Valley of the Will o' the Wisps but a beautiful healthy girl.
"Sylvie ! Sylvie !" he called out laughing with joy and just then he saw to his amazement his own reflexion in the water. At first he could not believe his eyes for instead of the ugly malformed creature he had been, he saw now a healthy handsome young prince.
"We are changed Sylvie. We are changed ! Come home with me my dearest girl and be my bride."
